Jayne Knowles makes objects which explore some of the qualities
of the book. These book structures and forms analyse the notion
of repeat through the unity of paper and metal. Paper and card
are used to convey visual information rather than readable text.
The metal enables this information to exist in three dimensions.
Some of the pieces have been instigated through working with poet
Rupert Mallin.
Jayne lives and works in Colchester and has a studio at Cuckoo
Farm Studios alongside other artists and craftspeople. She
teaches part–time at Colchester School of Art & Design.
